Some of the tangential storylines that were thrown in got a bit tedious since there was no payoff in the end.

What’s New About the Story
The connection with Atlantis is original. It would be nice to see that fleshed out a bit more.

The lead character is compassionate and eager to embrace his role in the world.
Uniqueness of Story
Making the some of the subplots, such as the brother's anxiety and the blind girl's storyline would improve the relevancy of their inclusion in the book.

Analyst Recommendation
CONSIDER
Justification
This is very commercial and has potential to do well with audiences.
Brief
When a young boy learns that dragons are real and that his family has an ancient connection to Atlantis, his cosmic role in saving the universe is revealed.
What We Liked
The boy and dragon student/mentor relationship with very marketable.
Film: A feature adaptation would have to be a sweeping reimagining of the current story with the integration of Atlantis folklore and its intersection with the modern world to fulfill the destiny of the main character. He needs a much more active role in the story to make him the true hero of the story.
TV: A series could be built upon the exploration of fantasy lore and how the modern boy who is the former King of Atlantis interacts with the ancient and magical past in the present and future.
Key points:
1. Strong premise
2. Relatable characters
3. Magical elements
4. Empowerment
5. Franchise Potential
Synopsis
Ian lives on an ancient estate with his parents and his older brother. He constantly dreams about dragons and spends a lot of time on the estate sitting on his reading rock learning about them. One day he is visited by a great silver dragon, named Bry-Ankh. Upon meeting Bry-Ankh, Ian learns that dragons are real and much to his delight Bry-Ankh has a lot to teach him. As Bry-Ankh mentors Ian and teaches him the ways of the dragons, he also teaches him that learning is an ongoing process and that Bry-Ankh has a mentor himself.
Bry-Ankh introduces Ian to the mysterious Count. He is an ancient entity who is wise beyond comprehension. Just like dragons, the Count can shapeshift. When he is in his dragon form, he is called Ka-Aten and when he is in his teacher form, he is called KT. Bry-Ankh and The Count work together to train Ian to fulfill his destiny.
As Ian becomes enlightened by his new knowledge, it is slowly revealed to Ian that the estate on which he lives is connected to The Count and he has a great royal lineage. Ian’s family stems back to Atlantis and Ian was actually the King of Atlantis in a former life. He must now use his newfound identity to help save the world.
With Bry-Ankh and The Count, Ian trains to meet his destiny. Together with others from the Brotherhood of the Dragon, they must face an army of ancient evil ones bent on destroying the world. On the night of a lunar eclipse, the battle of good and evil comes to fruition. With the help of the Brotherhood of the Dragon from all over the world, Ian is transformed into his former self, the King of Atlantis. The power of the Brotherhood of the Dragon working together is enough to defeat the evil and save the world.
