Short Summary
His search for answers quickly leads him to a secret, off the radar, government paranormal research project, that is housed under the grounds of an old abandoned Massachusetts State Mental Hospital. The researchers are not alone. The site is a hotbed of paranormal activity.
The film ends with a fast paced paranormal pursuit in the dark, deteriorating and foreboding abandoned mental institution. And just when you think it's over, there's an interesting twist at the very end. It's worth the read.
Setting
This script requires limited locations and a 'relatively' small cast. The location for the 'State Hospital' could be any one of a number of abandoned facilities and the opening WW II 'French Countryside" can be shot locally.

Development Pitch
"THE FORWARD OBSERVER" is about a critically wounded Army officer who returns from the Afghan War and finds that his family, the house he grew up in and his life pre-deployment don’t exist...and never have. His search for answers quickly leads him to a secret, off the radar, government paranormal research project, that is housed under the grounds of an old abandoned Massachusetts State Mental Hospital. The researchers are not alone. The soldier soon discovers that the institution is a hotbed of paranormal activity. But it doesn’t take him long to realize that it’s not the dead that he has to worry about. "THE FORWARD OBSERVER" is written along the lines of films such as “PARANORMAL ACTIVITY” and “THE CONJURING.” This script requires limited locations and a 'relatively' small cast. The location for the 'State Hospital' could be any one of a number of abandoned facilities and the opening WW II 'French Countryside" can be shot locally. I believe that the twists and turns and constant suspense in “The Forward Observer” will appeal to a very wide audience.
