Development Pitch

I envision this novel would be best as a scripted series on a streaming series like Hulu or Netflix presented in 14 episodes. The story covers the deployment of a National Guard Transportation Company from beginning to end as the soldiers contend with the challenges of their mission, red tape, bureaucracy, and a violent enemy. It could also be a movie. There is a lot of drama and while the characters are fictional, the story is true to life in that the events are common to any unit deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan in the same timeframe. It has a lot of historical interest as well as a good storyline and a romantic subplot. Important issues addressed in the novel include the fraternization of enlisted soldiers and officers, leadership in a war zone, fratricide, suicide, the Veterans Administration, the war on terror, terrorism, and the struggle of the common citizen-soldier in a war zone.
