The person sitting next to you in the pub or cafe or on the bench on the village green may just turn out to be an angel fulfilling his destiny - and messing about with yours.

Short Summary

A coin is found in a village churchyard by the gravedigger, Topps. As he takes it to the vicar he is watched by a stranger in red-trousers who disappears into the shrubbery. Later that night the red-trousered man forces his way into Topps' cottage and tells Topps he is being sent away on 'holiday'.

Archangel Gabriel takes over hell, Lucifer returns to the angelic realm. The havoc wrought on the villagers is set to rights, and as a reward for his services the PI and his wife are gifted the Mill, an old building the angels had renovated as a cover for their being in the village.

Development Pitch

This is a lighthearted fish out of water comedy about angels and demons with a fresh spin - a good vs evil plot with an angle and twist not seen before and a unique take on familiar characters. Prime for a TV or streaming series, it would appeal to late-teens and adult audiences that love shows like ‘The Good Place’ and ‘Good Omens’. There is rich subject matter to draw from, a cast of eccentric and memorable male and female characters, plus adventure, action, romance, life and death stakes, and comedy, all set in evocative settings. This and its sequel could easily and effectively be expanded to run for several seasons.
