Short Summary

Mamluk wakes from a stasis pod in a transport shuttle and discovers the pilots are dead. He lands the damaged craft on remote planet and begins the arduous task of repairing it.

Mamluk finally escapes the planet, then steals a transport holding thousands of his kind.

Development Pitch

This story is about survival and overcoming all odds. Stranded on an alien world, Mamluk begins his arduous task of repairing the shuttle utilizing the limited technology available to him. Mamluk learns about himself as the story progresses. He starts as a 'lone wolf' then as time goes by he makes friends with a couple of the local population as well as an animal which is native to the planet. His path of self-discovery enlightens him as he learns more about his species and the Atlan Protectorate; the people who engineered his species to be disposable soldiers.

About The Author

I was born in Western Sydney, Australia, in 1965. During my childhood years, my family traveled to many places across Australia, and around the world. During my late teen years we returned to Western Sydney, where I settled down. I have two fantastic children, of whom I am extremely proud. My life changed direction in 2001. I moved to America, and now live on the picturesque shores of Lake Michigan. 2010 saw me revive an old dream of writing.
