THRILLER, RELIGION, ACTION
Ilham is a teenage girl in a war torn Middle Eastern country. Her life is turned around when she gives birth to the second coming of Christ. Her son works to reverse WWIII by changing the hearts and minds of people rather than just using his powers by force.
Authors Writing Style: FAIR
Franchise Potential: GOOD
Accuracy of Book Profile
The book profile talks about how the story is separate from religion, but religious discussion is a substantial part of the book and tied to sources of conflict. There are multiple religions and their beliefs and issues are dissected throughout the story.
Draw of Story
Ilham's perspective as a teenage girl in a fanatical Islamic household who is raped is compelling. Her family situation and war torn backstory adds many layers to her attack and recovery.
The dialogue lacks subtext and nuance at times. It is very direct and can come off as unnatural with how upfront people speak to each other to accomplish their goal within a scene.
Use of Special Effects
THE STORY RELIES HEAVILY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS
Primary Hook of Story
The hook is that Jesus returns during WWIII, but uses activism to restore humanity rather than his powers on a large scale.
This could have a smaller fanbase that is Christian, but those same individuals would have to be open to other religious beliefs. The depiction of the other religions is not sympathetic for the most part so may alienate some viewers holding those beliefs. There is also a large portion of people who are non-religious that may not mesh well with Christian overtones.
This might have some awards potential in the Christian film industry. Secular award shows tend to shy away from religious films.

What’s New About the Story
The story involves a futuristic application of the Christian prophecy of Jesus' second coming that is grounded in the gritty realities of international and Middle Eastern politics. It had bursts of gritty realism, but mostly quieter moments of contemplation, by having less religious discussions and more activism, it will reflect its intention.
The lead character of Ilham takes an unexpected path of being a teenage rape victim in a war torn community to making peace with her past, raising twins and having a successful singing career. She is a very strong and optimistic person. Yazdon has an interesting internal struggle of being too powerful, but trying to balance his anger for good.
Uniqueness of Story
This could have potential if there was focus on one main character as there are two separate stories of Ilham and Yazdon which delays the pacing of each other. The concept is solid, but the dialogue and dual character structure disrupts momentum towards a clear climax.

WORK IN PROGRESS
While the story has many positive points, it has room for improvement (see possible paths below). If you can't change the story at this point, my suggestion is using your notes as a guide to highlight the best aspects of it when taking the next steps, either putting a pitch page together, a treatment, or a presentation.
Tips for Improvement
Ilham and Yazdon are both compelling characters, but their stories are separate concepts. By either intertwining them more as Yazdon gets older, or separating the ideas into separate films, the theme of the story would be clearer. Adjusting this will even out the pacing. The dialogue often does not advance the plot and reducing the amount of quiet moments will give the ones that are included greater impact in their message.
As World War III rages on as a result human created crises, a baby boy is born to heal the world. His life is chronicled as he grows into the modern day savior he is destined to become.
What We Liked
- This is an interesting take on a modern day savior. The story addresses and brings awareness to religious differences, human rights issues, environmental activism, etc. It serves as a conversation starter if nothing else.
- Film: A feature adaptation of the story would most likely require a franchise of films that could traverse time and place. The story in this first book is really more of a set up and the meat of the story will presumably come in future installments.
- TV: Adapting the book into a television series would be an easy transition. The structure lends itself to the episodic format that chronicles the life of the savior as he grows up and makes his mark on humankind.

Ilham, a young girl in a war torn middle eastern country, is savagely raped by allied soldiers. She becomes pregnant from the incident and is ostracized from the draconian society of which she is a part. French missionaries take pity on her and help smuggle her out of the country and set her up safely in a convent in France. She begins to telepathically communicate with the life inside of her and discovers that she will give birth to twin boys. As the time of her labor approaches, people from far and wide are inexplicably drawn to the convent to witness the birth. The birth is attended by a doctor called Celine, a journalist called Therese and a Buddhist monk called The Blessed Peacemaker. After the twins are born, an angel appears bringing the news that one of the boys will become a modern day savior. Ilham names the boys Jamon and Yazdon.
Celine and Therese stay on to help Ilham raise the babies. Ilham becomes a local opera star and catches the eye of a wealthy international real estate developer called Armon. They fall in love, travel to America and get married. Soon after the wedding, Ilham discovers that she is pregnant with twin daughters. Things go well for the family after Eva and Emma are born, but when they around the age of five, Armon doesn’t feel that it is safe to remain in America and the entire family relocates to Sweden.
As the boys mature it becomes apparent that Yazdon is the son destined to become the savior. As a young adult he travels the world to learn about other people and religions before he goes off to Asia to train with The Blessed Peacemaker and Clement, his martial arts instructor.
Yazdon fits well into his role and begins traversing the world on his quest. As he preaches to his followers, he learns of a rouge Catholic called The Wandering Saint who is spreading his own teachings. Serendipitously, his given name is Edward and he happens to be Yazdon’s cousin. When Yazdon inadvertently discovers that he no longer has absolute healing powers, he goes in search of Edward for help.
