Starting Description

Twenty-seven year old, Henry Pryce, a most unhappy, self-absorbed man, finds himself being stalked by a lovely young woman. As to why? He can’t fathom. Her ability to vanish into thin air scares him witless. Meanwhile, he has girlfriend problems. Savannah Wilkes is fed up with his narcissism, his rude manners. His apartment neighbors torment him with their loud music. This leads to confrontations. He hates his abusive boss and finds his tech-support job boring. He loathes his lack of pay. His parents and siblings are highly successful. His sister texts him often with inspirational quotes (this irks him to no end), as she constantly worries about his lack of ambition. She fears for his future. Pryce’s stalker, Jazz-Age socialite, Rachelle Dalcassain, inadvertently commits herself to traveling through time to Pryce’s 21st century world. Her ability to time travel is enabled by her reading a message that dropped out of the blue into her mansion’s foyer. The message is equally cryptic, other than to kidnap Pryce and spirit him away to her era.

Ending Description

Henry Pryce is a new man. His trip to the past and Rachelle’s confrontation, as well as their near-death experience gives him new attitude. He moves onto a new company and into management. Meanwhile, he finds himself under a new, but inscrutable boss. She becomes his encourager and mentor after, Abby Bell, his new-found affection vanishes. Having serendipitously met again, while biking in the woods, he learns that she’s none other than Rachelle’s great-great-grand daughter. (On outs with her father, she’d legally changed her surname to Dalcassain). Minutes after their bicycle ride, Abby vanishes. He’s deliriously happy when, two months later, she returns unexpectedly from 1920’s New York City. While there (one of several reasons she was snatched away) she, with a help of a pregnant friend, and an 18th century Native American girl, saves Rachelle from a most gruesome death, but not without a violent fight. Henry discovers that his mysterious thirty-something boss, Marissa Eubanks, is actually, Faye Pryce, his great-great grandmother. He discovers too, that her husband, Frank Pryce, a time traveler and a phenomenal magician, is his great-great grandfather. He was the one who sent the cryptic messages to Rachelle and to Abby, enabling them to time travel. Abby and Henry say their sad goodbyes to their time-traveling relatives. Henry and Abby marry shortly afterward.
