Development Pitch

Aiesha, the main character and protagonist, starts off in the home of an old witch along with others who were rescued from the clutches of death, abandoned by their very own. This is a book about a story with different unexpected twists and turns. It has all the elements of a good story including a strong but poor female character who, with her entire village of the classless Dalit caste of India, gets bullied by a strong dominant male character into surrounding her love and the very life she ever knew. She loses everything and escapes with barely her life to set off on a journey of self discovery and empowerment. The journey is in itself as touching as it is dramatic. It introduces the audience to a mystical world of gods and witchcraft, a world where the weak perish at the hands of the strong. She thrives in this world and comes out of it dominant and ready to face the demons of her past. The inevitable confrontation will leave the audience guessing and at the edges of their seats wondering who comes out on top.
