Development Pitch

At a time when masculinity is seeking new roots and women are rising to personal and professional heights, when #metoo signals that toxic males are finished, forever bachelor Manny Monte Tanner believes this is the time for his style to blossom. Unfortunately, Manny is an expert at failed love. It’s not that his heart isn’t in the right place. And, it’s not that love isn’t in the cards. Elaine is a free spirit chasing her dreams. And when Jude strums back into his life, a decades old fire reignites. Things get complicated. Set in Victoria, B.C., Canada the characters are engaged in sometimes desperate struggles that are a reflection of contemporary society. The novel’s distinction lies in the notion that a desperately romantic bachelor has something to offer the relationships between women and men. Quirky, compelling, and charming, Across The Divide provides a unique view of the many issues that have so often troubled women and men.

About The Author

 My first novel, Storm Rolling Into Darkness was published in 2017 by Friesen Press.  I have been writing on and off for the past thirty-five years. I began writing following graduation at university. I continued to write during the very busy child raising years, and as my career continued to develop.  I am an avid reader. I recently finished Portnoy’s Complaint. I’m currently working my way through The Catcher In The Rye and Leonard Cohen’s poetry book The Flame.  My writing is often influenced by my eclectic interests. Those interests, wonderful as they may be, often conflict and challenge me to make sense of a chaotic world.
