    Development Pitch

What would be worse, if there is a deliberate, concerted effort behind the troubling and dark times in which we live, or, that humanity is incapable of climbing out of the present basic, animalistic stage of our species towards enlightenment? This book is a fantasy about the very rich owning the world, in league with dark forces that are their means of maintaining power, and the duplicity of the demons they believe they control. I believe this dark, urban fantasy will find a significant audience considering the current disturbing times by answering this question. My book's premise is that humanity's evolution is deliberately stymied and our race is kept intellectually and morally ignorant. I postulate that humanity has been corrupted with a sinister pestilence and are likewise being quarantined from those who dwell in eternity. My novel is about one self-cursed man who influences the outcome of that demise.

    Accuracy of Book Profile

"About the author" section is too reticent, not objective enough.

    Draw of Story

The premise of the story is interesting - a man seeking revenge for his son's death and getting in the way of powerful demons controlling the world.

    Possible Drawbacks

The structure of the book is confusing. Even though authors can vary from first and third person in the same book, it should be done carefully so the structure isn't compromised. Descriptors - adjectives and adverbs - are overused, and it takes a toll on narrative's pace. Characters and events are introduced without context, which makes it even harder to connect to the story.

    Use of Special Effects

THE STORY RELIES HEAVILY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

    Primary Hook of Story

The hook of this movie is its protagonist, an interesting and mysterious character motivated by the love for his dead son.

    Fanbase Potential

It could have a large fanbase if structure is worked on in adaptation.

    Awards Potential

It could have Awards potential if skillfully adapted as it would require good characterization and special effects work.

    What’s New About the Story

The original thing about this story is the main point of view, the protagonist, an apparently average man whose life turns sour after his son's murder - a relatable character in a supernatural narrative.

    Lead Characters

It is easy for the audience to relate to Leonard, the protagonist, as he is motivated by personal reasons but ends up discovering humanity's best kept secrets during his journey.

    Uniqueness of Story

The narrative needs to be worked on.

    Possible Formats

Film: Studio, Indie, Streaming TV Series: Network, Cable, Limited Run / Mini-Series, Streaming

    Analyst Recommendation

    WORK IN PROGRESS

    Justification

It is a work in progress because, even though the premise is interesting, structure and writing need to be worked on in order to attract audience and organize story properly.

    Tips for Improvement

I would suggest the point of view of the story to be organized, as well as some editing on the overuse of descriptors in order to allow writing to become more fluid; characters could be better introduced within the narrative.

    Brief

Leonard is seeking revenge for his son's murder. As he is forging his path to immortality, he also discovers the influence of demons in the structures that control today's world. As Leonard is captured, he witnesses supernatural battles and is sent back in time to relive the worst moment of his existence.

    What We Liked

This is an interesting supernatural narrative with charming and merciless demons who are mostly thriving behind the curtains and successfully controlling today's world.

Film: It would be a great adaptation for TV because it is a story with a surprising closure for a film. Protagonist's journey is also interesting and surprising.

TV: It would be a good adaptation for TV because of the way author closes the story: as Leonard is sent back in time to the moment his son is murdered, he is able to try again and again not to let it happen and it may happen in many different forms.

Key points: Motivated protagonist; charming and powerful demon (“Killgrave-like”); period passages; supernatural controlling society; social critique.

    Synopsis

Leonard is a mysterious man distracting death as he seeks revenge on Gregori, as he names him, the demon who murdered his son a long time ago.

During his journey, he meets Monte and Sikster, who are also following the same creature. As they unite against those forces, Leonard uncovers the truth about the underworld and its battles between good and evil, and the influence of demons in today's society, controlling the most powerful structures and institutions that lead to today's misery.

As Leonard gets captured and joins a ceremony of demons aiming for eternity, and him being there as an offer to open the gates of time, the Guardians intervene and Leonard is sent back to the moment of his son's death - having the chance to stop it from happening. As King Leonard, the scene repeats itself and he is again unable to stop the demon, and curses himself again to never rest until his revenge is done.

    About The Author

“An old soul, living out of time. Poignantly aware that remnants of recollections of past existences have bled over into this incarnation. Trying to live graciously and gratefully while inflicting my will on this existence. Reaching out but resigned to the surety of being born alone, living alone and facing death alone. Currently living in the desert southwest, but Lake Superior calls to me.”
