Ending: Stephen has freed himself from control over the top villain and faces him in the ring as the final match in a best 3-out-of-5 tournament that would determine the fate of the entire GCL. The league is successfully separated from the Government's control, as is Stephen.

Development Pitch

From Parts Unknown is an amalgam of the over-the-top characters, storylines, showmanship of professional wrestling, the intense action of boxing & mixed martial arts, and the underappreciated pre-Star Wars science-fiction & satirical stories from the 1970s, specifically Rollerball, Soylent Green, and even Network. It captures the familiar good vs evil story in a "dystopia-in-progress" setting, showing us a world we know very well and the direction in which we could find ourselves going.

Draw of Story

The book creates an alternate, almost dystopian world that is interesting.

Possible Drawbacks

No.

Use of Special Effects

THE STORY RELIES A LITTLE BIT ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

Primary Hook of Story

Can one man take on America's most popular sport in a world where that sport is the government's most valuable propaganda tool.

Fanbase Potential

I'm not sure. This is one of those semi sci-fi satires on American values. Those kinds of films are hit-or-miss and it's hard to say what kind of demographic will gravitate towards something like this.

Awards Potential

No. Not that kind of movie.

Envisioned Budget

LOW BUDGET

What’s New About the Story

It's an interesting satire on American values. It could use either more action or more direct comedy, depending on where the screenwriter wants to go with this.

Lead Characters

They are basically cartoon characters in live action. That is interesting.

Uniqueness of Story

This isn't rare - dystopian societies built around games is standard YA fare but it's more geared towards adults than teens. If you give it more action and over-the-top drama it could succeed as a YA film. If you give it more dark comedy it could be an entertaining adult satire.

Analyst Recommendation

CONSIDER

Justification

This has potential to work as a film. It creates a believable alternate universe but it needs some polish and direction.
