Development Pitch
Not just for kids, "The Nestries" is a different kind of fairytale, covering six decades from 1918 to 1958. Because it's a fantasy, with faeries and humans interacting, it contains situations that may prove unmanageable by human actors or film makers, and for those reasons, aside from the current pandemic, I see the book best produced in animation, requiring actors for voiceovers only. As a movie, the engaging story with an exciting good vs evil premise will attract all audiences. Youngsters will be drawn by the charm of the faerie creatures, and their parents, as well as seniors (who have come to believe that old-fashioned, wholesome entertainment is a thing of the past) will appreciate the message of ecology, harmony and brotherly love threaded throughout. In addition, the story may well be played out in a series, as new characters and situations are introduced in the book to its end. It's been a very long time since Snow White or Peter Pan were introduced to film, and I believe the world is ready and EAGER to see something of that scope once again! I know I am! Comedy, tragedy, adventure, and charm - the Nestries has everything the film industry needs to make movies great again!
