Development Pitch
Well, it was Judd, who had been out sitting on the edge of the same cliff just a short ways from where I was. What was he doing there? He was contemplating how to end his life. Yes, he had cancer, as you know, and he didn’t think he could handle the hardships ahead of him. He wanted to end his life before it became unbearable. So the short version is, we both gained family, we became dear friends and he took me under his wing and helped me pick myself up off that cliff and out of the mess my life had become. He helped me through the EMT program here in St. George and gave me a place to call home. Judd was not a religious man, at least not in the traditional sense, but he lived a moral life and he showed me, my son and many others how to be a good person for all the right reasons. The journey for the main characters starts in the same beautiful Zion National Park but both come from extremely different backgrounds. Brought together for very different reasons but finding a common bond that allows Judd, the main character, to find a reason to go on living and Deborah, the second main character, finds someone to give her a second chance to live a better life for both herself and her young son. The unexpected relationship allows both of these characters to explore unexpected love and both find peace at the end of the journey.
