    Development Pitch

It is a very unique story. Fans of my writing who have read this book liked it a lot. Many told me that they finished it in one sitting as were glued to the story. Although Science-fiction and released last year when there was no clue of Covid-19; this story touches bioterrorism in a very unique way. Both the President and Prime Minister of India are affected by a deadly virus and eventually they are killed. Panic shown here is same kind as is among people because of Coronavirus. Being a PhD in Biochemistry and have vast knowledge of molecular and infectious diseases the story is very compelling. The characters although their names sound Indian but they are written for Hollywood actors. The lead character of Dr. Honey Singh can be played by John Travolta. These kind of stories are written usually set up in USA, Canada, Australia and Middle East. But this is also set up in India and can be very easily played by Hollywood actors. I would love Jennifer Lopez to play role of Baby Singh. The book was a bestseller in three categories on Amazon and selling very good. I imagine it to be a Tv series or a Hollywood movie or a web series. it is unique from the library you have as it has flavor of India in a Hollywood way. Just imagine John Travolta being a Sikh man and a royalty. Masses will love this story. My Tv and radio show does lot of publicity of this book. People were asking for audio book and soon I will release an audiobook version. This is an Oscar or Emmy ready story!

    Accuracy of Book Profile

I believe the author could talk more about the story in the profile. By reading the profile only, I couldn't deeply understand the book.

    Draw of Story

Nothing. The book starts with a sequence of names, and roles, and places. It doesn't have a hook.

    Possible Drawbacks

I believe the story needs a narrative structure. The way it is, it looks like a diary, in which the author keeps talking about brands, and places, and people and their wealthy life. It needs a better structure to draw attention.

    Use of Special Effects

THE STORY DOES NOT RELY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

    Primary Hook of Story

The hook is this strange disease spreading worldwide, having its origins in a wedding celebration.

    Fanbase Potential

I don't think so. It would need further development to reach a fanbase.

    Awards Potential

No. It talks too much about wealthy people, millionaires, expensive items, glamour. There's no conflict other than the virus being spread, and no one changes here, so I cannot see Awards potential.

    Envisioned Budget

    MEDIUM BUDGET

    Similar Films/TV Series

CRAZY RICH ASIANS - BECAUSE OF THE WEALTHY ASIAN FAMILY. CONTAGION - A STRANGE EPIDEMIC THAT SPREADS WORLDWIDE.

    What’s New About the Story

I don't see anything original here. Maybe, if the author finds a different tone, and turns it into an action movie, in which the goal is to discover the cause of the disease, but the protagonist ends up seeing himself in the middle of a terrorist act. Or maybe putting the "in love" couple in the center of a conflict. The way it is now, it's not original.

    Lead Characters

I believe the author wasted too much time talking about the abundance of the family, the status of the characters, how they were rich, influential, that we don't know them at all. The author needs to give her characters human characteristics that could make us feel some empathy.

    Uniqueness of Story

It's not. It needs to tell a story, otherwise it's just a collection of names and facts.

    Possible Formats

    Film - Indie

    Analyst Recommendation

    WORK IN PROGRESS

    Justification

While the story has many positive points, it has room for improvement (see possible paths below). If you can't change the story at this point, my suggestion is using your notes as a guide to highlight the best aspects of it when taking the next steps, either putting a pitch page together, a treatment, or a presentation.

    Tips for Improvement

The author needs to have a plan. The author needs to know where to go, how to tell this story, and why. The characters are so flat that we don't create any kind of empathy for them. The author needs to give these characters human features, goals, wishes, fears, something that could make them more likable, credible. The structure needs further development. It looks like a newspaper, a lot of information, roles, names, brands, facts, but the author doesn't manage to go deeper into any of the plots. The author spends pages listing the symptoms of the Zika virus. Instead of wasting time with unnecessary information, she could further develop conflicts, plots, and characters. The pace is accelerated. Everything happens and is solved way too fast. There's no time for us to engage with the stories because they are solved on the next page. The book doesn't seem to have a specific theme or tone. When you read it, you don't know if it's a love story, or a sci-fi, or a drama, or a political story. It needs to focus more on one choice. The author has nice ideas, she only needs to improve her storytelling.

    Brief

A mysterious illness begins to spread after a blood drive at a high profile wedding. When it is deemed an act of bioterrorism, the authorities must act to bring those behind it to justice.

    What We Liked

This is a topical storyline given that we are in the middle of a real world global pandemic at the moment.

Film: A feature adaptation could delve into the sweeping nature of the spread of the virus. The story is cinematic in scope and also has intrigue.

TV: A limited run television series that follows the unfolding of the spread of the virus would make a good adaptation. A deeper dive into characterization and rivalries would be required in development.

    Synopsis

Dr. Honey Singh and his wife, Baby Singh, are wealthy doctors of Indian descent living in Maryland. They come from influential families that all work in medical fields. Their daughter, Kathy, is also a doctor. Kathy is best friends with her cousin Rosy, who is also a doctor. Rosy falls in love with Dr. Jack Singh and when she falls pregnant, they decide to quickly get married in India. The wedding is planned for Christmas Day and rich, famous and influential guests from all over the globe gather in New Delhi to celebrate the marriage of Rosy and Jack. Honey’s nephew, Happy, is the director of a blood bank and he plans to do a blood drive and collect blood from all of the wedding guests. The company who provides the phlebologists for the event is owned by Honey’s rival, Dr. Sheva Shanti.

After the wedding, the phlebologists are all found murdered and soon guests who gave blood and the bride and groom themselves begin to show signs of illness. It is such a pervasive illness, that bioterrorism is soon suspected. The President and Prime Minister of India get infected with the illness as well as several high profile diplomats. The FBI and India’s CBI are immediately called in and a report from the CDC shows that everyone has been infected with Zika virus. Widespread panic ensues.

The FBI and CBI begin hunting for suspects and world leaders who attended the wedding, including India’s top officials, begin to die from their illness. The country goes into national mourning. Meanwhile, a rich power couple, Aabheer and Norain Gupta, move to Switzerland and begin holding lavish parties for the locals. Soon they are the talk of the town and they become brokers of the Bollywood film scene in Switzerland. When the Guptas are implicated in a case of cyanide poisoning, the FBI begins to look at them as suspects in the Zika outbreak. They are ultimately charged in the case. They are arrested and extradited to the United States for trial. They were in cahoots with Seva Shanti in plot to hurt Honey and his best friend, Cozee. As the plot unravels in the United States and the Supreme Court of India, all the guilty culprits are ultimately arrested.

Honey Singh and his family are exonerated and they all celebrate. Rosy and Jack welcome twins who were miraculously not harmed by their mother’s Zika infection. Honey and Baby decide to make a movie about the Zika tragedy and Rosy and Jack write a book about their ordeal. Now that the mystery is solved and the illness is over, they all get back to living their lives happily.
